GW Pharmaceuticals
The Occasion
GW Pharmaceuticals expressed interest in working with us to host their 3rd Annual Scientific Review Conference for 2008. The two day event was a showcase for GW, with delegates coming from all over the world, some from as far as China and Japan.
Our Main Lecture Theatre provided the backdrop for the meeting, and our spacious Max Rayne Atrium and Events Dining Room provided ample space for the 100 or so delegates between sessions. The end of the first day’s session featured an 8 item pre dinner canapé party menu, all handmade on site by our team of talented chefs. This was followed by a 4 course banquet dinner for all of the visiting VIPs.
The Catering
Each day on arrival, GW’s guests were treated to a sumptuous breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, danish pastries, croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee in the Max Rayne Atrium. At breaks in the meeting program, a variety of whole fruit was served as well as Fairtrade coffee/teas/infusions.
For lunch they had two custom selections from our hot fork buffet menus as well as a hot and cold dessert buffet options such as hot banana tempura with toffee custard. For dinner, a 4 course banquet menu starting with a fresh wild mushroom soup, a warm haddock and crushed potato appetiser, a main course of roasted poussin and to finish, a caramelised rhubarb and stem ginger crumble for dessert.
Use of the AV facilities
A full two day program with various presentations took place in our Main Lecture Theatre, utilising the digital XGA high spec projection equipment. During the dinner in the Events Dining Room, the built in sound system was used in conjunction with a dual LCD projection system to add colour and vibrance to the dinner speeches.
Outcome
A full hands on service and attention to detail resulted in a successful and enjoyable showpiece meeting for GW (who have already booked again with us) for all their visiting delegates.

The feedback which I received from our delegates was outstanding; they really loved the food (chefs’ choices) and thought the venue was great, also they mentioned their appreciation for the support and kindness of your team on both days.
Please could you also thank Craig for all the support he provided on the night of our dinner on the 12th, he was very helpful and showed a very high standard of professionalism, for this reason our dinner went so smoothly.
