Biographies
Nigel Collett Operations Director
Prior to joining the One Wimpole Street team in November 2005 Nigel gained a wealth of experience in the London hotel, conference and catering market.
Between 1990 and 1998 he was General Manager of catering at the Honourable Society of Inner Temple, followed by a period as Area Manager with Baxter Platts.
In 2000 he moved to the Hurlingham Club and was a key member of the re-development of the event facilities at the Club.
In 2002 he moved to Citigroup in Canary Wharf where, as Food Service Director he was awarded UK Catering Manager of the Year in 2004 by Cost Sector Magazine. Nigel and his team are constantly aiming to deliver a service that both achieves and exceeds customer expectations.
Craig Wallace Conference and Events Manager
Prior to joining the One Wimpole Street team in 2007, Craig worked in almost every sector of the industry, both in the UK and in his native Canada. He spent 3 years as the Senior Operations Manager at the Royal College of Physicians of London. Before that he worked in Whistler, Canada as the Assistant Front Office Manager at the 4* Fairmont Whistler resort, before re-locating to London.
He oversees the Conference and Events department at One Wimpole Street, helping to deliver a complete service to all of our customers. He brings 17 years experience of working in restaurants, hotels to our team.
Karen Kay Event Office Manager
A key member of the One Wimpole Street team, Karen graduated with an Honours degree in Business Administration. Starting in the business sector, Karen moved to London to join us, and has ten valuable years of working at One Wimpole Street.
Her position has given her the opportunity to work on key events where royalty, heads of state, prime ministers and heads of industry have attended. Her first class customer service skills, focused attention to detail, creativity, and ability to interpret clients' expectations, ensure each event is unique, and she has developed long-term client partnerships as a result.
Paul Kennison Executive Head Chef
Prior to joining the One Wimpole Street team in September 2008, Paul was the Executive Head Chef at the Park Plaza Hotel Victoria in central London, a 300 bed 4* deluxe hotel. He was responsible for 20 chefs and 2 kitchens serving:
- * a 1 Rosette standard restaurant,
- * 15 meeting and conference rooms offering space from 10 to750 delegates,
- * room service and
- * café bar
Before working at the Park Plaza Hotel Paul was one of the Sous Chefs at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane. Here he worked extensively in The Grill Room Restaurant. Prior to this he was at the Millennium Hotel, Gloucester Road, London.
In his spare time Paul likes jumping out of aeroplanes at an altitude of 10,000 feet -with a parachute - as one of his hobbies is sky diving.
Kevin McLoughlin Audio Visual Manager
Kevin joined the One Wimpole Street team in 1995 after several career positions within the hospitality and events business in London and his native north west.
He has seen many changes over his tenure. The creation of the 300 seat Main Lecture Theatre with its cutting edge audio visual capability - arguably one of the best equipped lecture theatres in London, and has more recently overseen the technical specification and installation of our new Max Rayne Auditorium.
While at One Wimpole Street, Kevin has developed strong customer relationships and he is committed to delivering high quality audio visual productions.
Nicholas Dennis Operations Manager
Firmly placed at the sharp end, Nick oversees all the day to day operations at One Wimpole Street and is often the first point of contact on the day of your event. He comes to us from Australia., where he worked at the Holiday Inn Sydney City Airport as key member of their team.
Nick's charm, hard work and attention to detail ensures your event with us always run smoothly.
